Manfred is a cancer on baseball.
Today's Red Sox uni ad announcement showed the advertiser patch on the right sleeve of the home jersey and the left sleeve of the road jersey. Why? Because MLB ad patch positions will be based on whether the player bats left- or right-handed, to maximize TV exposure.

The only thing better than a "So..." tweet is a "So..." tweet replying to something totally unrelated

It was literally built around SMS; just put your phone in your pocket and walk outside

I think this is one way that Twitter has been truly, truly toxic, since it caters to people spending large amounts of time in front of a screen.

Also what's the game plan if they walk out anyway? The railroads are already cut past the bone, it doesn't sound like they can cobble together a scab workforce with what they have.

I don't see what right the federal government has to stop railroad workers from striking. We're not at war, they're not federal workers, and there's no violence - they've negotiated for years. The workers' economic importance is their bargaining power, not our right to stop them.

Democrats will scramble for cover as they vote to implement this rail agreement. They’ll duck behind Biden’s presidential emergency board, and the union leaders who brought the deal to members. None of it changes the fact that the memberships of four unions voted it down.

Denouncing the railroads as profiteering exploiters of labor... and then announcing that you're going to side with the profiteers.
Pelosi announces the House will vote on legislation averting the rail strike this week, well before next week's deadline.

Seems like if the railroads have mismanaged themselves to the brink of causing an economic collapse, the government should probably step in and take control of the railroads
I'm calling on Congress to pass legislation immediately to adopt the Tentative Agreement between railroad workers and operators. Let me be clear: a rail shutdown would devastate our economy. Without freight rail, many U.S. industries would shut down.
