That's just dancing around semantics. Show us that being taught in scripture... if you can. Meanwhile, this is our example of true Godly humility: "O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Romans 7:24... whatever you want to split-hair-label it.

I used to fall into the self deprecating bucket. Tied directly to my lack of confidence. Now I know to take a kind word or compliment at face value. If I don’t know or have anything to say, I reply with a simple thank you.

My husband and I both recently read your book. This was something that stood out to both of us because I hear him self-deprecating and I talked to him in the past about it. He thought it made him sound humble. I think it makes him appear weak.

Hmm. Not disagreeing. Self-deprecation was taught in our circles as a virtue. Right next to servant leadership.
