Pay rise of 4.5% against 11 to 14% inflation is a 10% pay cut. When the rise is funded by schools and not the gov, that means colleagues will be let go or not replaced to fund, and the work rate will further increase. Disgraceful tory behaviour, yet again. #teacherstrikes

Unfortunately that does not apply to Academy status schools who do not use that way of grading pay. Most academy’s starting pay is 19k-22k and then the annual raise is not per NEU guidelines. #academyschools @NEUnion #teacherstrikes
