Some people really find masks & the idea of 'freedom' of choice triggering, when the choices made remind them of the risks they face. Not all of us can afford to live in denial.

My elderly mother was recently seen in ER adjacent to a patient with monkey pox on one side, children with COVID on the other side. 10 hours separated by a hanging curtain with a shared bathroom. Leadership in triaging patients with airborne infection in ER would be a start.
