Omg this literally breaks my heart. I'm so sorry to hear this
To those who don't know: it is known as the Broken Heart Syndrome. It's quite common actually, usually triggered by sudden stress and extreme emotions like grief. Giving you chest pain even heart attack
Imma be real: IDK how “Deaf elitism” came up. It is a tiring troupe. We know deaf folks are oppressed by the audist system. They become oppressors to other marginalized communities within the deaf community as we can see here. It is not elitism; it is OPPRESSION periodt.
This grief won’t magically dissipate when the calendar shifts to Jan. 01. 2021. So take care of yourself. Discover ways, community, and coping that will endure a world that might never be the same again. Especially my Black folk. I’m trying too.
Wholeheartedly agree- grief changes us, becomes part of us and journeys with us going forward. I have found it easier to accept my grief as a part of me versus something or a time period to “get over”. #grief is ok to feel
