So it took a few years, but MikeOS 4.6 is now here! This is my 16-bit x86 operating system project, for learning how a simple DOS-like OS works, and for tinkering on old hardware. It has BASIC and Forth interpreters, games and detailed handbooks: mikeos.sourceforge.net
