This part in Infinite Jest is incredibly relevant to today
the idea that there’s no intellectual depth in being happy and that in order to be considered intelligent you have to be miserable is so silly. you are not innately intelligent bc you hate things. you can be critical of the world around you and still experience joy

The Nazis told the German people in the 1930s that the cost of caring for people who couldn’t work was 60,000 Reichmarks each. Today the @Telegraph will do it for you via their calculator.
The telegraph has created a calculator that lets people calculate how much disabled people who can't work are "Costing" them. This is deliberately inciting hatred against disabled people. I urge you all to report this to IPSO if you can ipso.co.uk/complain/complain…

The NHS says LGBTQ people are more likely to experience mental health problems. Hardly surprising, since discrimination, feelings of isolation and the fear of street violence aren't great for mental health. Why people want to deny this is a mystery nhs.uk/mental-health/advice-…

The vaccinated and unvaccinated people catching and spreading C19 don’t realize THEY are the ones creating NEW VARIANTS by being the host in the first place. They don’t even know asymptomatic infections can do that. How is this not being communicated by public health officials??

I used to hear historical revisionism (ie denial) about events decades ago and wonder how it could possibly be that people twisted factual and highly documented events, and be believed. Now I'm witnessing it, right now, about Covid, over events that happened just 3 years ago.

According to a new report by children's charity The Childhood Trust, disabled children are being forced to go without electricity or heating because their families are being disproportionately harmed by the cost of living crisis.

#PrideMonth is here so I have a new project I'm excited about, presenting @TheDisabledGays, an account to highlight disability queer rep in books, movies and tv shows. Dms are open for submissions, I hope people recommend stuff so we can make a place for uplifting this. 💗 /1

This is a real place. It is a housing estate called Les Espaces d'Abraxas, built near Paris in 1982. And it's one of the most important buildings in the world...
