Laca (£250k/w) was out of contract so resigning Eddie on a 5 year deal means we can recoup his wages from a £20-30m+ transfer fee anytime over the next 4 years and £100k is still less than half of what we were paying Laca. Plus replacing him if he left on a free would cost more.

You clearly don’t know football, we aren’t Liverpool. We have to pay up more money to convince players , Liverpool can convince them by simply saying they will challenge on all fronts. I’d rather 100k in wages, then lose him for free.
