RESOLVED. If I believe that God has spoken with clarity and finality in his word, I should act like it in my doctrine and in my practice. In short, I should reflect my confidence in the God who has spoken in every area of my life.

Is the Town you live in this beautiful? I kinda doubt it.

This is a trend I've noticed over the past decade or so. In many places in evangelicalism more charismatic 'worship' has opened the door to more charismatic theology overall.
Evangelical worship today has been significantly Pentecostalized. And most people don't even realize it.

There's a great deal of difference between personal opinions and public opinions. The fact that many people haven't figured this out accounts for at least 50% of the silliness and fights on Twitter

Remember when this was so basic that reformed folks could say or write something like this and not be called gnostic? Yeah, good times.
By that you mean: 'because they must've read Moses and the prophets' since all the rest is pagan nonsense am I right 😉
God sent Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle to prepare Christian Theology for the life of the church. Send. Tweet.
Tonight's dinner, our Forest raised pork chops with a Greek rub and grilled over cherry wood coals.

When people say: "I want this, or I believe this" you should believe them. Aside from the murder of his own people, (I'm not sure you can ever set that aside) Franco was a dictator for life. Let that sink in because that's what he's arguing for, a protestant dictator for life.
Basically, America is going to need a Protestant Franco

A helpful🧵 Obviously we don't throw up our hands and put everything in the category of "mystery" but there is a limit to what God has revealed & we are able to comprehend. Acknowledging that is to take God seriously. As Calvin said: "when God makes an end of speaking so must we"
As I get older, I am less and less impressed by people, including theologians, who think they have everything figured out. 1/

Unless you have an eschatology that is contrary to the Apostle's creed, this is a true statement.
Replying to @goemanpj
I argue that every Christian's eschatological view is optimistic. Because, regardless of what happens on earth, Jesus wins. "Set your mind on things above, not on things of this earth."

At our house we like to have some sort of question to discuss at dinner. My son tonight: oh, I have a question! If you could see any animal at the zoo, what would it be? Me: leviathan. Yeah, nothing can stop that.

I had the morning free and was able to attend the mid-week study @ our church that my wife & children attend. I was struck by the difference between a Bible or theology class that a school puts on vs being a part of the life & doctrine of our local church. ⬇️

My family is being taught & discipled by our elders. This is truly an unspoken blessing of homeschooling. The relationship that even my younger children have with their church and it's elders. Parents, if at all possible, disciple your children in & with your local church.

I find it ironic that Credo put out the clip from Truman about doctrine of God being *more important & when they get pushback it's like: who said anything about Thomism?!? Also Credo today. Yeah everyone knew what they were talking about the entire time, now can we all admit it?
We've been fed the narrative that to be Protestant or Reformed is completely antithetical with Thomas Aquinas. But the historical work of many Protestants seems to show otherwise. Check out the first Credo Colloquy with @MattMBarrett and Carl Trueman⬇️ credomag.com/2023/05/the-cre…

I don't believe it's wisdom to set a theological trajectory based upon what "young men will buy into". Christ bids us take up our cross & die to our own self interests, including the machismo of youth. Otherwise it's very possible the only thing created will be YRR 2.0

It's finally nice enough out here in the PNW to fire up the wood fired oven and cook pizza. The homemade Mortadella pizza from our forest raised pork was pretty legit. nitter.1d4.us/i/web/status/165…

PSA. If you're in your 30s or 40s (or older) and you want to blame our current society and politics on the boomers you need to take a real long look in the mirror. Your generation has been voting for quite some time, how's come it's still going down hill?
So true.

It's not that 3 year olds are narcissists, it's just that they want 100% of your attention every waking moment and want you to actively celebrate everything they do. LoL.
